Emily is a Denver native and a recent graduate from the University of Kansas where she studied Finance and Marketing. A member of both the University Honors Program and the Business Honors Program, Emily graduated with highest distinction among the top 3% of her class. Emily has multiple summers of work experience including roles as a Financial Analyst Intern at the Berks Group, a private equity family office in Kansas City, and a Capital Markets Intern for Jones Lang LaSalle in Denver. During her time at the Berks Group, Emily developed financial models forecasting future returns on investment opportunities and worked closely with operating partners to guide educated investment decisions. While working for JLL, Emily assisted the Investment Sales team with the preparation of client deliverables and presentations such as credit analyses, quarterly market reports, offering memorandums, brokers’ opinions of value, sales comparables, and travel books.

Emily joined the Franklin L. Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management at the University of Denver in 2019 to study real estate finance. Her interest in the revitalization of Colorado's Opportunity Zones stems from her passion for the preservation and prosperity of Colorado's communities.

In her free time, Emily enjoys traveling, cooking, running, and spending time with friends and family.

Kate is originally from Craig, Colorado, where her family has a sheep and cattle ranch. Kate spent the majority of her career in the private equity industry. Most recently, she worked at a boutique executive recruiting firm in New York City where she led the successful execution of multiple search mandates for varied investment firms across the industry. Prior to that, she was an Associate at KRG Capital Partners, a middle market private equity firm in Denver, where she completed buy-out and refinancing transactions, and actively managed portfolio companies.  Kate began her career in finance in New York at Morgan Stanley as an Investment Banking analyst in the Financial Sponsors Group where she worked on several M&A, equity and debt transactions. While at Morgan Stanley, she was deeply involved in both the analyst recruiting program for Stanford and also the Financial Sponsors Group intern recruiting program. She earned a BA in Philosophy from Stanford University.

Kate joined the Franklin L. Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management at the University of Denver in 2019 to focus her previous experience in finance on the real estate industry. Specifically, her interest in revitalizing the rural west in communities such as her hometown, Craig, is fueled by her commitment to pass on Western Colorado values to future generations.

In her free time, Kate enjoys horseback riding, yoga, Pilates, and spending times with friends and family.
